It’s easier than ever to shop and dine in downtown Wilmington

A new program that starts on Friday will make it easier than ever to shop and dine in downtown Wilmington.

Free valet parking will be offered at three intersections on Market Street — 5th, 7th and 9th streets – and parking spaces will be designated for curbside pickup from downtown restaurants and shops, as part of the Curbside Wilmington program organized by Mayor Mike Purzycki, Downtown Visions and the Committee of 100.

Starting Friday, businesses in downtown Wilmington will also be able to use the parking spaces in front of their establishments to make it easier for customers to patronize these businesses in a more socially distanced way.

There will also be a weekly block party with entertainment on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
